I am enjoying trips on my Hobie PA 14. I made a video of my most recent adventure in case anyone is interested. This was the 1st decent day I was able to fish since the latest rain storms. The Delta is a mess right now and I heard they were catching Trout at New Melones Lake so I gave it a try. In this video you will see me catching several Trout, testing out my new Hobie Live well, the BooneDox landing gear in action and see what it is like to fish from a Hobie Kayak. Hope you enjoy.

Weather was great. 36 to 55ish air temps, mostly sunny. Water temps started out at 50 and went up to as high as 52 in some areas. I tried for Bass, but no luck. I have a lot to learn about cold weather winter bass fishing, but the Trout fishing was good. Did some exploring. Not bad for my 1st time fishing this lake. It was a great day.

Fun video! I had my first day on New Melones last weekend chasing spotted bass. My girlfriend and I loaded the Pro Anglers with them! Such a beautiful lake! I was glad to see some clear water as we pulled up to the lake. We are taking such a beating this year with all the storms muddying up the waters all over Northern California.

I see you're from Tracy. Not sure if you do much bass fishing on the Delta but we have a group that holds tournaments on the Delta and a few of the surrounding lakes. You can find us on Facebook under Yak-A-Bass NorCal. Our tournament season starts next month! It's a fun group to get out with, learn a few things, and maybe take home some cash if you're lucky!
