Thank you ncmbm, I'm not sure too I can pry the cover off without destroying it, how can I reinforce it without removing? Consider that the part I have to harden is just behind the daggerboard housing, far away from backward inspection port.

Based on the center brace and cross bracing I saw inside the Fox I don't think you can get in there. I read a repair article that used a pole with a camera on the end to see the area while repairing. This may be an option. Getting around the dagger well to the area I feel will be impossible, not much room in there. Getting wetted material around and in place even more difficult. Has this area been damaged by impact of some type? It is also possible that the top cap is fine and the cross member has failed, giving no support to the top cap. I say, get a picture from inside first, then come up with a repair strategy.
