The 2008 Hobie Tiger Worlds organizers are presently arranging free shipping from two ports in North America. They have asked that we specify what ports would be best. It would be great if we could arrange this to fill two containers. Anyone want to suggest some major port cities and sailors that are interested in shipping from the proposed city?
Event information is at:

Who's planning on attending the Worlds?

I'm thinking about it, will probably attend since there's no Tiger or F18 Worlds that we'll be attending this year.

What do people think about having a loading at the F 18's in TX for those attending that regatta?
Just an idea~~ (We likely won't be there since its on at the same time as H16 Worlds)

do you have to be really good to get a spot in the container?

I planted the idea with the wife and it's on the long range schedule. I've already responded to Bob's email about which ports would be best for shipping boats. My recommedation is to use the same ports as we did for the Singapore Worlds...New York City and Los Angeles. This worked well due to large Tiger concentrations in those geographic areas. Time to start working on the logistics of the trip 8)

Moyra,

You do not need to be "really good" to get a spot in the container. It's usually based on first come, first serve. We shipped 6 boats back from the Singapore Worlds with room to spare. The most boats in a container that I was involved with was 12 for the H17-H18 Worlds in Australia. If you have a true desire to do the event...then go for it. You learn more in one week than you do in a year. Plus it's a hellavalot of FUN.

if there was a container leaving from the north east, i.e. new york, that would work out for us. barring political upheavel, it sounds like too much fun to resist.

(will winter never end?)

I had a similar dilemma but found a solution. It became a me or the boat situation. I do miss her every now and again.......
