Small/Medium River rapids?

Can the iTrek models (especially the 2 newly announced) handle kayaking down Class I rapids with switchback bends? Specifically, how do you handle navigating a rapid with a 90°+ bend and not get slammed into the outside edge?

I kayak in Arkansas & Missouri rivers: Buffalo, Jack’s Fork, Current, Spring and all are very shallow at times and have bends that can be very challenging to not get pushed into the bank or rolled from high centering slightly.

Would greatly appreciate your guidance.

Altho itreks have incredible rudder authority (esp when combined with lean), I wouldn't want to repeatedly subject the rudder or mirage fins to banging on rocky shallows. I forget if the rudder is kick up even in a sharp turn, but the mirage drive kick up is expensive to put at risk. What happens if you bang onto the fin hinge itself? I would stick to:

Thanks for the thoughts, good points for sure. My brother has a Mirage 180 (non kick-up) Outback and it’s still very capable in extremely shallow, but once he starts to drag he hops out, sometimes pulls the drive, and walks the kayak. Whereas in my 10yr old no-name I just give it heck and scoot along lol
