I have an I11S inflatable and the steering system was EXTREMELY bound up; for the first couple of trips it was fine but just got progressively worse until I couldn’t even turn the handle at all. Saw a video for an upgrade, purchased the cable but had a really rough time even putting the cable through the steering guides; felt like something was blocking the tube. Finally got the cable through, everything hooked back up and…couldn’t turn the steering handle at all. I thought about putting an entirely new assembly but, not sure how I would d that with the way that the steering system is integrated into the kayak itself. Any ideas on how to clear the guide tubes?

There was an upgrade kit; see https://www.hobie.com/forums/viewtopic. ... 1&p=274313 and many similar posts. Also make sure rudder is fully down before steering.

Thanks. As I said in my post, I had already purchased the upgraded cable and followed the instructional video to a T…just not sure why I’m still unable to turn the handle after installing the new cable. I’m thinking that the guide tube is occluded or broken within the actual assembly and am wondering if anybody has replaced the entire assembly or if that is even possible.
