Hello everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on Hobie Adventure Islands and Tandem Islands. How does the Tandem Island handle with only one person n the boat? Has anyone done the Nightmare and Broad Creek in an AI? AI ot TI as a solo boat for the EC? Any recurring malfunctions on either boat?
Handling the boat (AI or TI) on water is fine, but it is a load for one person to handle on land, especially the TI.
Jim Czarnowski did the Wilderness Waterway (Chokoloskee to Flamingo and more) March 2016. You can read about part of his little adventure here

I don't know if anyone has done it in a TI, although I don't see why they couldn't. To me, the question is "Why?". I've done it in a sea kayak several times years ago, and it is totally uninteresting to me to think of doing in in an AI/TI. Again, why? If you were sailing down coastal Everglades between Chok and FLM and wanted to do a side trip through Nightmare, fine, just be sure to do it with a compass handy, plus a back up compass in case one gets dropped in the water.
The AI/TI are well designed, stable boats, but any time you do an expedition, like from Chok to FLM or the reverse, you have to have a repair kit and plans for things to go wrong.
