Well it's official, I'm getting stationed in Korea sometime in 2018. Started sailing further today. I sailed 9 miles out, and pedal 10 miles back. Tried tacking, but it was like taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back. My thighs are on fire.

Lesson learned today. DO NOT mess with ama while in the water. The AKA came out of the ama but the cords were still attached to the eyelids. I decided to loosened both akas. I nearly turtle, caught it at the last second. My ama drifted away, jumped in the water to retrieved. Never again. Keep-out lines is a must to do on my list!

1. NEVER leave your boat! 2. How could your ama drift away??? 3. You need to spend more time just learning to sail before you go to sea. 4. Don't know what you mean by "...loosened both akas," but it doesn't sound good. 5. Often you must sail to wind. It requires tacking, a standard sailing skill.

Glad you made it back alive.
