Well I'm back with a question or two after spending many many hours watching video's and reading as much as I could find on Ai and Ti. What I couldn't find were reports of known issues with the 2011 Ai-Ti which would be what I will order I'm sure. I can't and won't try to amaze you will total recall but I do remember that one or both models had a rudder problem, one or the other had issues with the rudder control arm breaking the handle where it mounts to the shaft of the control, I read somewhere that one sub-marined worst than the other and I forget the exact problem but I believe it was the shear pin in the akas or drive. If all that I have mentioned are true or partially true, have the problems been fixed and if not which one has less know issues? Living here, there are many hoops to jump thru to get things done so that is a big deal, warranty and repairs. That being said, keep in mind that at age 63 I probably won't be the cowboy that some might be(well maybe, who knows) so I wont be as hard on the equipment as others have been! Also I would like to ask in a more specific way than has been written here about ease of learning etc. I would ask that if my rookie statis got me in a bind before getting really aquainted with sailing her, bringing her in thru some higher than normal surf etc. which would be more forgiving? Common sense would tell me (the rookie) that a bigger sail could get me in more trouble quicker however I think I could be wrong on that point! Another question would be directed to a knowledgable fisherman that trolls alot. I have reviewed many pictures and have read a few comments on amas being in the way on the Ai for landing fish and fishing from the rear seat of the Ti doesn't present that problem, the amas stop far more forward on the Ti Would this be enough of an issue to make me look one way or the other? Maybe much to-do over nothing really but for the first time I find myself lacking in knowledge of a subject that is near and dear to me and that is boating and fishing(fishing actually) with boating just the vessel that takes me where the fish are as safely as possible. This could be the end to all the questions about is the Ti right for me because just as soon as we can close on the house near the beach we will be free to leave to San Juan to see the dealer about ordering. At that point I will research other things here on the forum about fishing, rigging, do's and don't etc. Thanks again in advance. Terry
