I realized that buying a strap adjuster along with the replacement buckle would allow me to simply wrap the rod end buckle strap through the single slot end of the buckle, around the rod and through the double slot of the adjuster. Pull the strap tight and I was done. Each buckle and adjuster cost about $5.00 with shipping. But the replacement was done is just a couple of minutes.
The aluminum buckle should last quite a long time in fresh water...my main sailing
areas.
The same company sells identical side-release buckles in nickel.
For those who sail constantly in salt water, I am not sure how long these metal buckles will last.
If you just replace your plastic buckles...I still recommend buying the strap adjusters along with the buckles...no sewing, no hassle.

Tidalwave - I was wondering if you could post some pictures of your set-up with the new trampoline hardware. I have a good idea about how you routed your straps, but pics would give a good look at how you did it...of course, that's if you have any time between when you go out sailing. :)

If you have already tested out your set-up, I was curious as to how the hardware held up? I don't think you would have an issue with any breakage, but I am more curious as to any slippage between the straps and buckles. Thanks.
