Splash Shield

I've put a marine brass eyelet where the aka bar impinges on the sprayshield - the aka pin just pokes through. Also, you can see a loop through the inner edge of the sprayshield and around the front hatch bungee (thanks RR). I used a shadecloth tie wrap, which is like a cable tie, only wider and flatter.

I've left it loose until I try it on the water, but is should stop the shield blowing up in the wind.
The padeye on the bulkhead is a good place to hook the mainsheet bullet block too

my awesome girlfriend has finished sowing mine up for me but now i'm tossing up how to mount it. Most people have drilled extra hardware but i was wondering if anybody like me who is paranoid about putting non hobie holes in there boats has tried extending a line on each side to attach to the cleats next to the aka brace ball mount.

I would think, having lines that far back (from the front) might get in the way of entering/exiting the boat. After drilling the first hole, they all come easier after that!

One person used the plastic eye, on the right side (forward of the pocket) for that side. (but nothing matching on the left)

Best (to me) is add the 1" ball mounts. Functional, and look good.

When threading the line, remember to add a knot near where the line exits the material (each place) to add a small wire-tie to stretch the material out and hold it tight.

Do it, Dave! Drill that first hole. You will be proud. Just be sure to seal it, then, no problem. Everyone drills holes in their boat for rod holders, fishfinders, cleats, up/down lines, GPS holders, etc. Hobie has drilled holes all over the place. It is ok. Be brave, do it!
