And would the Bravo's optional snap on boom work on an AI?

I usually launch my AI right from my trailer...but for those people who have
to launch on a beach etc., I was wondering why not buy
an extra set of Tandem trailer saddles for use on your beach cart...
A rear TAI saddle could be bolted to an extended (if needed) square cross tube on
your cart.

I have found that my AI always wants to shift when being hauled on the cart even if I cinch the straps pretty tightly. I use a 'cushioned cross-bar' cart because I never liked the idea of vertical rods sticking up into the hull with all of the weight being carried at two small areas on the bottom.
I was already thinking about a quick removal system for my rear AI saddle which
would allow me to install it on my 'beach cart'. The hull then wouldn't be able to shift. The problem would be that the hull would have to be laid on the ground while getting the saddle on the cart and then later back onto the trailer.
Using an 'extra' saddle would alleviate having to move the trailer's installed saddle.

Matt,

Can understand the AI doesn't need more power, I sailed it at a demo day and was disappointed with the burying amas.

The 13' 4" amas from the TI look about right...will they fit? Have you tried it?

Thanks,
John

Finally...We've been waiting for Hobie to make a big/long tandem! Maybe it's time to switch over!

Crud. I just posted my motorcycle for sale to fund an AI for deep sea fishing and now this comes available.

So what do the AlohaDans of the world think of this one in comparison to the regular AI for deep sea fishing solo, best, or just overkill? I sure would hate to have to buy a trailer though.

No hands-on use by anyone yet, to have an opinion.

But, mine's already on order just because I know Hobie will stand behind it, as they have with the AI.

Will we be able to order the single AI with the tamdum AMAs? I'm ok with the small sail, but more stability might be nice.

the spacing looks the same.... but hopefully we may get a better solution to the amas soon see http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=20589

Nice find husky 13!
Looks like it was taken at the same time as the Hobie promotional still shots.
Nice tight turns- the larger rudder seems to be doing its job. Could be a drier ride but looks like the front passenger will still get quite wet. Seems to be more windward ama vibration when out of the water?

I'm sure the blokes worked that one out Stringy. That's why they got the women to sit in the front with T-shirts on.

Time for a "red lady" or "yellow lady." Man u guys would kill it with one of these. Think of how much ocean surface area you could cover and not to mention speed while trolling. Oh, and your outrigger set up on one of these...nuts. I think it's a no brainer for u guys.

Couldn't mention this on the other site ...u know

Mongoose and UB, good to see you guys here too. :D

To all,

I put a deposit on a TI today and also awaiting its arrival. From what the kayak outfitter ([email protected]) told me, the TI's arrival has been delayed to April. And so we're all crossing our fingers on this. I plan to use the platform for touring and fishing the shoreline outside my home. I live on the windward side of the island where the winds are steady and ocean notoriously rough at times. I'm hoping the larger hull and amas will keep the craft a little more steady. And provide for the potential of more deck space for a fish bag and gear when going solo.

Thanks all for the shares and inspiration. Looking forward to sharing my experieces.

Aloha from Hilo, Hawaii
