Matt is the "Warranty Guy" and your best bet to know if there were any production problems that might relate to your 07 boat. Serial #s are near the stern, around the starboard side from the rear hatch.
Most owners have upgraded to the larger Turbo fins. They perform significantly better than Standard fins. They're a "MUST" upgrade, as well as the larger sailing rudder and the rudder up/down pulley system that came out in 08. The new Mast Receiving Cup was for owners that didn't routinely turn their boats upside down and hose out the sand and debris that would fill up the Hull Cup and and prevent the mast from seating securely.
I finally replaced my rudder pin this year, not because it broke, but because Hobie came out with a new stronger rudder pin. I have my dealer checkout the mirage drive and rudder lines each year. Chains and all other parts are still working like new.
We all wonder if we're making a smart purchase. You can tell from this forum we're all pretty excited about what this boat has to offer. I look at this way "I'm having a 1,000 times more fun per dollar" than all those folks with big boats...and it, and the trailer, fits in my garage.
