I think I just missed you Angus, we launched from the East end of Queens Esplanade again about 14.00 but while we were preping I think I saw a TI sail heading back to Manly, not sure though, was that you? How long did it take you to get to King from there?

I saw your post about 12.30 & thought I might catch ya but guess not

We took about 20mins or so, it's about 3km, sound about right?

Took the missus out today for her 1st time, was a lot cooler than the other day, gladly got the wind/water proof top & pants on the way

Enjoy tomorrow & the rest of the weekend..........while I'm working, I'll be thinking of you all, well the yaks anyway

Yeah that was most probably me as time was right!

No one else was out on the water. Was getting up a bit.

Had some rudder problems (fix done wrong) so had it well reefed.

From Manly King was dead into the breeze.

Went out again this morning early with the dog.

From launching, getting out of the harbour, etc in light breeze at 8am took about an hour. (20 mins getting launched and out of the harbour of course) Again it is directly into the SE breezes from Manly.

It is about 2 Nm from Marina entrance.

On return (downwind) with breezes picking up a whole lot less!

Oops, no pic Angus. :( If you need a hand organising pics, I'd be happy to help... just email me.

Congrats on your maiden voyage angusisthedevil. 8)
Your passenger needs to hike out on the windward tramp, though I think his weight may not add too much to levelling the TI!

I think you may have added the Img brackets to your pic address instead of copying the Img code for each individual pic?

PS -Is that a Carlex Easytrailer?

Not sure what I did but thanks for posting pics for me.

Will look at it at some stage. Never used Flickr before and just set up account and exported from iphoto on Mac.

Max - If I can't figure it out will email for advice.

Trailer - Yes it is a Carlex Folding Trailer. I modified it by changing tow hitch and spare tire carrier so I could incorporate an extending drawbar so it complies with the overhang rule. In the process of making an ally support frame that drops on and I can raise to my roof of my garage. At present it is sitting on pool noodles on trailer.

Passenger won't listen!

Love the trailer Gus, did you end up hitting the Bay on Sat? I was working at Acacia Ridge & it was pretty ordinary all day

Not a bag idea for a passenger, hopefully he'd attract the sharks so you could get away

Just kidding

Saturday was pretty ordinary as far as temp and rain goes, was a bit blowy so glad I got out early.

Can't beat AUD$950 for the trailer including the spare! Did not want a dedicated trailer as I needed a trailer due to someone helping themselves to my old one!

Looking at going out next Saturday again (probably Friday lunchtime as well as I don't think I will make it to Saturday!)

Manly is a good spot to go in as it is sheltered. Might go to Green Island next trip. I expect human passengers next trip!

Hi Brian finally got out sat morning', decided not to take my wife,{Didn't want to scare her first day out}Instead took the mate that brought my old AI , we were just going for a quick sail, but ended up Blakely's
{thats why I never say when I'll be Back} went through a couple of small squalls the TI handled it quite easily the mast has more bend in it {It must be the larger sail area} than my old AI.
Didn't bother using the rudder tie down, and had no bother at any stage {touch wood} we cut across the pelican banks which is shallow especially at low tide.
All up I'm very happy with the purchase and expect to get a lot of use out of it.

Cheers for now
Ainut

Hey John

Sounds like you had a good day. I went out (as you see) but I got out early but it was squally and raining.

I will be out probably Fri and Sat at this stage if you are interested?

How long did it take to get to South Straddie and back?

OK sounds good!

I expect I will be staying at Manly so will be ready for Sunday morning if you are going out. Wellington point sounds good.

Saturday probably going to go to Green Island or maybe St. Helena???

Anyone else around on Saturday or Sunday?

You got to Blakely's? How long did that take & where did you put in? Not bad for a 'quick trip'.

We're looking after friends kids Sat but heading down to Wello tomorrow (Thurs) morn for a day out/picnic

I have to pick my daughter up from the airport sun morning ,but will go out after that {around midday}
When we went to Blakelys took just under two hours to get there {wind and tide against us} but then it was just under an hour back to to victoria point ramp.

Won't be out for the next few days I think, any daredevils out there guna hit the bay in this weather? Hope you've joined the VMR
