AI 2015 video review

Clever, Josh. Nice job. I moved my Harken cam cleat from the xbar closer by about 13" along the coaming. Kept about the same height. That alleviates the severe angle of the xbar cam cleat and the block on the hull. I felt having it closer to me gave me more leverage when releasing it. I'll post some pictures when I get a few more simple mods done.

BTW, excellent video. First class.

Thanks Keith. I agree and considered relocating the cleat as well (as per my previous AI) but we really wanted a solution that didn't mean any extra expense or much effort. And providing it works for the user, the x-bar is a good place for a cleat. Couple less holes drilled in the hull.

Personally I think taller people will be less likely to experience difficulty de-cleating, as extra height should provide better leverage. On my first voyage I found that it was less of an issue in the highest seated position. Eitherway, relocating the block solved the problem for me nicely

Thanks mate. Glad to hear compliments on the camera work... there is definitely thought that goes into what I point and zoom the handicam at and how I frame it, as well as where I mount and point action cams. Same goes for the editing. A heck of a lot gets left on the cutting room floor in the interests of keeping it brisk, but I always try to find subtly interesting ways to put it altogether.

I just noticed that my 2016 AI has the main sheet block located right near the forward hatch, as per the yakass/ slhobie relocation. That saves me a job.
