I finally got to take the new boat out over the weekend. Only got to pedal as there was absolutely zero wind. Rare day on the bay here when it looks like glass.
One haka for my 55# daughter to sit on and light fishing gear, we trolled about six miles looking for striped bass. I was surprised that the roller ball mirage drive did seem smoother and easier to pedal. The boat pedals faster than my '12...as I had to slow my cadence considerably to stay at the right speed for our winter bass. Also the higher seat had me on the #3 setting on the crank arms instead of 4.
Seat is super duper comfy, and definitely drier. We launched from a ramp, and normally I get some water into the seat area sliding the boat off the trailer, this time nothing. Daughter also commented she was higher on the aka, and sat facing toward the hull as normal, but also away with her feet on the am a, and didn't get her feet wet.
Had to loosen and center the rudder lines/tiller as they were binding and off center, but no bigger.

Hopefully we'll get some wind the next few days and I can sneak out and sail the dang thing.

I would think Hobie's website would be "Official." Here is today's "Official" info from their site:

The spec card that came with my new AI 2 has nearly identical numbers to those shown above.

I'm taking these as the everlasting, true to God, Official (by Hobie) specs for the new, 2015 AI (AI 2).

I'm sure these are correct, the trouble being you don't always know where the measurements are taken from.

The only difference is that photo is an early prototype sail - the current sail has longer battens - we need to re-shoot that photo, but there just hasn't been any time to make it happen, or a boat to shoot - all of production is sold out and trying to steal a boat to have a quick photo shoot has proven difficult, plus everyone has been dispatched around the country to work the different boat shows - so we're a bit shorthanded here at the offices this time of year.
