I lost the 'elastic' leash to secure my paddle. Has anyone made their own leashes?
If so, would you be kind enough to describe how you made it and what materials.
Also, how do you attach your leash to the TI when not using the paddle?

I use the Hobie heavy duty web leash. at $19.95us it would be hard to make better for less money. The coil one is the same price, but I don't feel it could handle the stress if a wave took the paddle at sailing speed. I attach it to the hull at the front right aka x-bar, and so far, use the paddle holder built into the aka. The TI rides so much higher above the water than the AI that I haven't yet needed to protect the paddle from hungry waves trying to grab it. I think much of that it the longer larger ama. The excess leash I wrap behind the daggerboard handle so no leash slack to get in the way.
