Has anyone looked at insurance for the Adventure Island?
Liability Insurance.
Theft (away from home).
Accidental damage.

Our estuary can get busy during the summer and just wondering what my options are. Unsure if my household insurance for which is included liability insurance would cover me whilst sailing?.. I'll need to check this out.

Here's a post which sidetracked into insurance (starting around the middle of the second page): http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=73&t=31561&hilit=insurance

Seems different for each person, area and insurance company.

All of our yaks (Sport, Outback, Revo & TI) have been covered by our homeowner's policy with Allstate. My agent said that everything was completely covered due to the size of them and their total value.

The one thing I did have to insure is the kayak trailer, which was an add-on to our vehicle policy - an extra $18 per year.

The safest thing to do is to ask your Insurer (in writing preferably).

There seems to be as many opinions as there are Insurers.

The Hobie Kayaks seem to fall into that grey area between being a boat and being a small sport item.
