Just got these parts in with my cross braces and got the braces installed, but have this leftover rectangle thing. What's it for? Where does it go?

What are the rubber plugs for?

The little rectangle thing goes under your front AKA brace and connects the AKA brace to the mast cup. I recommend using blue locktite on all those bolts in and around the mast, and make sure they are all tight , including the bolts inside on the V brace (all stuff that you will need to re-check periodically).

If you aready have one of those rectangular things, chances are the second one is extra. If you do have two, you might double check the hole diameters, the one with the smaller holes is the latest version from Hobie.

The little cups are shot glasses for your favorite beverage, just kidding, they are scupper plugs that you can put into the scupper holes in the rear seat area (should be a small piece of rope with them to tie them to the boat).

Darn, I put the brace on already, didn't know it went under. Oh well, I need to take them all off anyway if the need loctite in them. I have some in a drawer.

My rear seat scuppers have some kind of black paper in them. I thought I read about the 2012 being reinforced in the scuppers for the carts, but why would anyone use a cart on those scuppers? The scuppers behind the rear seat are for the cart. You can't even stand upright and roll the boat if you use the rear seat scuppers. And how is some black tape or paper going to reinforce anything?

Thanks for the quick answer. Back out to the boat!
