I just completed a trip to the Australian outback, covering 6,024km over 18 days, much on deserted tracks. The reality more than lived up to the legend!
Image
Our attempt at booking accommodation via the Internet did not go well...
Image
So we made our own arrangements
Image
Native (?) wildlife was prolific
Image
and some went out of the way to entertain us
Image
I had hoped to go for a sail, but the tide was out! (Would you believe there is a jetty round the front, and two cats stored under the building!)
Image
No water here either...
Image
I was told that when it rains, as much as 70 inches arrives in one hour, followed by another 39 inches in the next hour... Surf's up!

They're a bit harder to wrangle than Soldier crabs!
Great pics Tony. We've done a lot of Outback touring, though not for some years, and you've brought back a few memories. 8)

Great pics !
It's too bad that your attempt at booking accommodations via the Internet did not go well as that place looked like it had a lot of natural light and good cross ventilation in it.

It never ceases to amaze me about all the critters that are roaming about on that continent and that very few of them could be called cuddly. The only one that comes to mind is the Koala.

Anyhow, thanks for sharing your adventure.

Your right but after driving to Meninde Lakes near the middle of Australia
with my TI and caravan to find they were only mud, I think it's someone
else's turn.
