Retrofit a Vantage seat on a 2006 AI?

I have been meaning to fabricate a seat for my 2006 AI, good intentions. Has anybody retrofitted a Vantage seat on a vintage AI?

The floor is incompatible. There are many cheaper alternatives. Do a search and you will be kept busy!!

I admit I was a little jealous of the new Vantage seats, particularly the articulated mesh lumbar support.

So, I tried one of these on my 2009 AI...


Oh my god, I have zero back soreness now. Maybe the best $5 I ever spent!

Got it here on Amazon.

It stays on the seat without any problem (I just looped the strap behind the seat). At certain heights it will push against the support straps and loosen them, but I just move it up or down and the problem goes away. It pushes you forward a little as well but doesn't cause any issues for me.

I picked up one of those for $0.99 at my local Goodwill thinking of trying the same thing. Haven't tried it yet.

Forget the Vantage seat, do one better and get an Attwood. Do search for it here, will work for any pre AI's or TI's and no needed mods to make it fit, just slide it into place and secure with a leash.
