Has any one tried any ideas for getting rid of sea weed without raising the fin every time it collects weeds like weed fin on sailboards?

recently I have been sailing with the plug installed and the boat is faster, tacks better (I don't need the peddles when tacking now) and best of all, they don't aquire seaweed!!
