Are there any issues with using vinyl tramps? I see them listed for about half the the cost of mesh. I just bought a 2013 TI and took it out today and loved it.

Wind :| However I made some myself out of vinyl type material and am just a bit cautious when using them, also if they are loaded up with, say lobster pots or the likes then that can help keep the amas 'down' also.

If I had the £££'s (or $$$'s :D ) then I'd buy mesh ones.

I purchased the vinyl trampolines from the fellow in Conneaut, Ohio, who has them made by the Amish.
They pick up just a small amount of water from spray. I installed several grommets near the center of my tramps with shock corded lines to secure gear. The grommet holes drain any water that starts to collect.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to go with the mesh tramps with the buckles. I'm going to add a kayakingbob spray skirt as well.
