Hi all,

Apologioes if this was covered elsewhere.

Just giving up my diy 4 wheeled cart (2 pairs of 8cm wheelbarrow wheels) and biting the bullet on those insanely priced Wheeleez sand tyres. (the price of them just makes me angry ;-)
Just not sure if I really need the 42cm diameter ones.

I want to cart the whole rig (AI2015) with amas, akas, mast and gear (Guess around 85kg?) down and up over very soft sand. Is it even possible?

42cm are speced at 176lb/80kg each
30cm are speced at 121lb/55kg each

technically the 30cm would be enough but just rather spend a bit more to be sure unless you all say the 30cm will be more than enough. Again the sand here can be very fine and soft on the upper shore.

Our beach dollies with the 42 cm wheels work very well over soft sand carrying Islands and Pro Anglers.

I use the 30 cm wheels on my 2015 AI and they seem to work OK on New Jersey quartz beach sand.

One thing to consider is ama height when rolling the whole rig. I have to shove a paddle under the folded amas because one hangs down far enough to rub on the 30 cm tire: https://picasaweb.google.com/1081497986 ... 3758213266

I do not know from "very soft sand"..... But I know from experience at Cape Hatteras that large SUVs like Chevy Suburbans, leave deep ruts in the sand that need larger tires to traverse easily...... So if you have those things running up-and-down your beach the larger tires might be a good idea as long as there is no ama clearance issue.
