One more question on cradle placement

I did the search thing but could not find definitive answers to actual location of the cradles. I know, 67 inches apart, but where should the forward one be under the boat?
I would think under the mast base area, or maybe a mirage drive well, but not sure.
Question is for both AI and TI, got one of each now. Both are '13, if that matters.

My TI sits perfectly with the rear edge of the front cradle level with the front part of the front ama bungee, with the rear one 67" back, with the amas folded of course. With the different bow profile, obviously any winch etc. post will need to be further forward.

2012 Tandem Island "SIC EM" with Hobie spinnaker

I built my trailer for my TI's before they arrived. My original idea and the way I built the trailer was for the boat to sit centered over the cradles at the 67 inch spacing suggested by Hobie. However I found that after putting the boats on the cradles the front cradle does not match up with the indentations on the bottom of the boat. The boat currently sits with 78" in front of the cradle and 75" to the rear. Measurements do not include the rudder. In measuring the bottom of my boat I found the distance between indentations on the bottom of the haul were about 10.5 inches and the measurement between humps on the cradles were 10". This causes the boat to sit on the points of the cradle and not the cradles themselves. It appears that if I move the boat forward 10 more inches it will sit properly on the cradles. This would mean I would have 88" of the boat before the front cradle and 65" between the rear cradle and the rear of the boat. Do not know if this would be good for the boat or warranty. I my case I do not know if I have room to move the boats that far forward. You can see better with the yellow boat how the cradle is rubbing on the haul. I can send you my drawings if that would be of any help.

I don't recall it being stated anywhere that the TI needs to be placed precisely centred on the cradles, only that ideal spacing between cradle centres should be 67". It seems to me that those cradles look pretty right for supporting the TIs, and would not be likely to damage the hulls in those positions.

You are right, other than your post of Aug. 19, (which I missed) there is no measurements mentioned. After contacting my dealer about moving my boats further forward they e-mailed Hobie and they got a reply from Hobie Warranty Manager/Product Support stating "No problem at all moving them to fit better. The TI is long and narrow so it will have a wider range of what fits the cradles." My boats were centered over the cradles, the best fit for the boats would have been 10 inches forward of center, but I decided on only moving the boat forward off center by 4 inches. The bow is now 82 inches from the middle of the front cradle which incidentally puts the center balance point of my 2015 TI centered between the 67 inch spaced cradles. My front cradles which I felt did not support the boat very well before now fits a little better.
