I found the trailer has too little ground clearance for my needs in that configuration. This is from my experience with an Oasis but shouldn't be any different for an AI. Do note that a high or low hitch ball on the tow vehicle will affect clearance.
FWIW to anybody else on this little adventure: the height is right for my 2015 AI with the trailer axle installed conventionally and a level trailer.
With just the main hull, I can insert the wheels while standing over the boat. ..... With the amas in the way, I lay on the ground and slip the dolly into the scupper holes from there.
The whole process of getting the boat on and off the trailer is soooooo much easier/convnient than with the much-higher Yakima Rack-and-Roll trailer.
There's no getting around it that the Yak is a seriously-cool trailer - and the larger wheels roll much easier on my lawn, but the Trailex is hands-down more appropriate for this application.
