Chris's (Stewart Products) pre-applied adhesive is great. I don't think you will be able to find anything better. Everything I get from him has the adhesive backing besides the mesh PVC, but anything he has can be gotten with or without the adhesive backing. The best way to apply this material is to clean the area well with alcohol or some other non residue cleaning agent. Dry the area well, and lightly apply heat, not direct heat, but warm up the area with a hair dryer. Apply Stewart Product and press all over making sure there are no bubbles. Now you are good to go, you can apply this anywhere you can imagine as I even have it on my cell phone.

a quick google search found this:

I pedal my PA barefoot at times, some of that stuff would be wonderful on the pedals for padding!

That is the Company, sorry I didn't specify earlier. The owner is Chris Stewart and is a really nice guy. A dealer of the product is Harmony http://www.harmonygear.com/product/0/SILENT_TRACTION_PADS/_/Silent_Traction_Pads, where you can order it from there.

In a few weeks I'm going to put SeaDek (http://www.seadek.com/) on my Pro Angler. They are relatively dominant here in Florida and if you scroll through the projects on their site, they have actually retrofitted a kayak with it. I will update this thread once I install it.

Chris Stewart from Stewart products (Silent Traction System material) has recently teamed up with Chad Hoover author of Kayak Bass Fishing, and owner of the Kayak Bass Fishing website. They have purchased Hook 1, so you can get the material from there.

I have been using this material for over a year and a half and have had no issues. In 2010 my wife and I put right at 1000 hrs on the water each, and 2011 we were just under 1000 hrs, 2012 we are at 11hrs.
