 Post subject: Wireless Trolling Motor

After reading the thread about the using the I-Pilot trolling motor on the PA, I got to wondering...

I have a MotorGuide Wireless 55lb trolling motor with a 48" adjustable shaft mounted to the bow of my 15' aluminum bass boat. It has a wireless foot-peddle AND a hand-held remote that clips to your shirt pocket and allows you to control the motor by just touching buttons with your fingers. It also has a quick-release mounting system so you can remove/install it from the bow deck in just seconds.

I absolutely LOVE that trolling motor. :D

But could it be adapted to work on my PA??

I could easily adjust the shaft length to the proper depth for the PA, but thinking about it, there are still a couple of things that concern me.

1) The unit weighs almost 20lbs and eats a lot of power when it's running, so it requires a full-size marine battery. That would total a lot of extra weight on the bow of the PA.

2) I ordered the H-Bar with my PA because I'm partially disabled on my left-side and I thought the bar would make it easier for me to get in/out of the kayak. I'm thinking the trolling motor on the bow would interfere with laying-down the H-Bar to get it out of the way when I'm sitting down fishing.

Thoughts?
