Let me introduce myself. I am an oral surgeon in Shreveport, Louisiana and have been fishing out of a Native ultimate 14.5 for the past 2 years. I have used these also on my bay boat to take into the marsh. but am just tired of paddling. John, at Lafayette Pack and Paddle has my new PA which I am picking up this Saturday. I am looking forward to participating on this forum and sharing my experiences.

qualey99,
Wow the Native Ultimate is like paddling a barge - slow and heavy as she goes !

I got my Hobie PA last summer later in the year and am completely amazed with it's speed and agility. I have landed some very nice fish with it and am proud to be seen using it. Recently I had to get my truck fixed and the mechanic was talking about fishing, he said he saw this really cool kayak you peddle last fall and wished had talked to the guy - it was me ... I told him all about the boat.
You will love the boat too.
Feel free to contact me with questions. I mounted rod holders and my own fish finder and have made a couple mistakes along the way with the trial and error method. I can most certainly help you avoid some mistakes anyway.
Glad to have you along and we will see you around.

Welcome to the PA club! I have been fishing out of my PA for about the last 3 years. You are going to love it. Great choice buying from PNP. Their customer service can't be beat. Check out LKFC and come join us on for an outing. We have plenty of guys coming down from North LA to join our club and outings.

Best choice you ever made... To Drop the paddle and start holding the rod!

Thank's guys for the kind welcome. I look forward to learning about my new PA and all the great mods that you all have shared on this forum. Seems like a great group of people here. I am heading to Lafayette tomorrow afternoon, and will pick up the new yak on Saturday morning.

Welcome to the PA Pack and you are gonna love it. I will be heading toward your neighborhood for a Crappie tournament or two this spring and summer. I am out of Dallas but fish east Texas (Caddo) and east in the spring when I can get loose. Let us know how the maiden voyage goes.

again, congrats and welcome, Phill

Welcome to the madness Doc! When someone gets a Hobie the paddle guys refer to it as "going to the darkside"!

I have officially crossed over to the dark side. Went to Lafayette last night, and tried out a demo PA in lake Martin this morning. Then the tornado came in, and I got off the water before things got too crazy. Went to Pack and Paddle, and picked up a 2012 PA with H-Bar. Loaded it in the pick up and made the 200 mile trip north in the rain. I installed the aluminum sliding seat discussed in other threads, (took about 45 minutes) and will build my storage rack tomorrow morning for the PA and my 2 Native Ultimates. If weather permits, maiden voyage tomorrow afternoon. Hope to get some fish slime on it.

Maiden voyage with newly installed sliding seat was a great success last Sunday. No problems at all launching or loading. Fished a while but did not catch anything. A nice 2 hours on the water.
