I love my 2012 PA ,the 1st few trips the boat was fine but on the last trip i started to hear a tight spring type noise coming from the rudder control. No matter how soft ,fast or slow i move it ,it makes the loud sound but it turns fine.I took the cover off the rudder cam in the aft of the PA to see if the string was maybe to tight but it was not. Please help........

Perhaps the spring is chirping as it rotates with the steering handle? You might shoot some silicone on the internal fittings just below where the handle is mounted.

I had the exact same issue with my Revo. A little shot of lubricant and she's quiet as a church mouse.

Go in through a hatch and squirt from inside the boat. No need to dis-assemble.

My PA does the same thing, sounds like it is binding somewhere. Is it best to get to the area from under the lure storage? What exactly am I looking for?

Mine is doing the same thing. I'd like to know how you fix it if you find the problem.

Mine did the same thing out of the package. It is just the the crimp on the end of the line rubbing over the rudder control arm just beneath the handle. When it is turned all the way to one side or the other the crimp barely slides over the arm and makes the string sing like a guitar. I left mine alone after I found what it was but when the line gets replaced I will move the crimp further back so it won't catch the control arm at the sharper angle. To check yours, just look at it through the tackle box hole in front of your seat with the rudder down while turning the rudder handle. Preferably on land...lol

Hobie, take note and you can prevent this minor inconvenience by crimping the rudder line further back.
