Thanks, Steve. I just got a reply from Marine Mat: The basic package for a Hobie PA 14 (no front hatch or rear deck coverage) in a two-tone scheme is $269.95 - which puts it right around the same price as a SeaDek kit. An extra $90 just for accent piping seems a bit much; if I bite on this, I'll probably just go with a single color. I'd welcome any other input folks may have.

Terry,
Keep in mind that the accent color is actually a bottom layer of the whole area sandwiched to the top layer. So that's where the extra cost is coming from. You take the $90 off for the extra layer used to make the accent color and add the material back in for the rear deck and the front hatch and you're probably right in line with SeaDek for a single color 5mm kit. Good luck with whichever direction you go. The padding does make a difference.

I did not know this, Steve - much obliged. The increased cost now makes much more sense. In the end, it appears to be "six of one, a half dozen of the other." Barring any significant price or quality differences, I may just go with SeaDek; they seem to have a bit more experience (and established customer base) in this arena. Thanks again! Terry
