Hi.

I'm planning to install a Shoreline Marine Anchor Lock Retrieval System with Removable Mount Image on Hobie H-Rail Universal Mounting Plate on the rear handle. Then have a 7# anchor hanging. I'm wondering if the plate would hold up or I have to use two mounting plates or use a 5# anchor.

Thanks.

I would not hang an anchor from the H-Rail... why not direct to the mounting boards or railing?

Currently I have an anchor trolley installed which will be removed to install bumper guards because I fish around pylons a lot. I like to fish/cast in front of me so the anchor has always been in the back of the kayak. This is the reason I want to have the Anchor Lock Retrieval System mounting on the H-rail plate pointing to the back.

I've just found another member has a 5# anchor hanging.

If even 5# is too heavy for the plate, I'll figure something else.

Thanks.

As a suggestion, if you decide to mount your anchor base to the "Mounting Board", this is what I ended up doing, to reinforce the mounting board on my 2013 PA-14.....keep in mind my mounting board is longer than the one now installed on the 2015 PA-14's with H-Rails.

I used 1/4 x 20 SS threaded rods with fender washers that are double nutted for extra support. There is no twisting or movement of the mounting board as there was prior to the reinforcement.

This is the mounting base for my Cannon Electric Mini-Mag that deploys a 4.3# weight.
