I installed a couple of the Hobie Hookless Map pockets and frames over the two Hobie thru hall transducer cable grommets. They work great to hold the cable when transporting my PA14 or on those few occasions I don't have my Lowrance installed. To make them fit, I did have to dremmeled some material out of the bottom middle portion of the frame, as the thru hull grommet was so close to the deck. If Hobie raised those grommets a half inch or so, these would have fit like a glove.
I also replaced the center rectangular hatches nylon pocked with one of the hookless versions. I have found I use them a lot to hang lures to dry, or even to hold my Rapala digital scale. (I weigh as many fish as I measure...as the old timers I fish with don't quite understand length as much as everyone understands weight. A 24" bass is huge, but when you say 5lb 4oz everyone understands.)
If you order these online make sure you purchase the Hobie Hookless Map Pocket with Frame, otherwise you just get the rubber pockets. The difference in price is a whopping $1 at ACK. i actually had to call ACK to get them to send the correct items...their website shows the combo but only includes the pocket itself.
Anyway, I feel these really come in handy, are a minimal investment, and really help keep my install looking clean.
Hope this rambling post makes sense...I am about dead on my feet tonight. Oh yeah, I hated myself for buying it, and was embarised so I told the cashier it was for my (fake) kid, but I found a $5 selfie stick at Walmart that hold a smartphone or GoPro, and fits neatly into the sail post. The son of a gun actually works pretty well. And if nothing else, I might use the parts for making a better DIY camera holder.
