If you have a PA with the reinforced scupper holes (black thick inner sleeves) I can personally vouch for how durable and strong that area is. Matt is definitely correct in stating that those scuppers are the strongest part of the bottom.

So if we use a Hobie sanctioned cart on these and it cracks you and Matt and Hobie will replace our cracked yaks?

There have been many changes to the carts since this topic (from 2013) was started, so don't read anything into the cart fit anymore. The carts are also more robust. We recommend the cradle for use with the PAs as well. This keeps the hull above the wheels.

If properly used... not loaded with fishing gear, not left on the cart for anything but during transport, Not banging into curbs, rocks or down stairs... We don't see many claims for cart scuppers anymore. If we do, we cover it.

Cart damage, that we do not cover, is when the cargo area is pushed up from leaving the boat on the cart for long periods.

If you are concerned about the scuppers... Best carts for a heavy PA... even loaded with gear are the dollies.
