I am wiring to the battery. Still in the process of doing that this week. I actually have a switch panel I am mounting in the center storage hatch. I have my FF and all the lights installed just have to get everything wired up now.

So I contacted them and they said $200 for aqua camo. No special writing on it or anything, just aqua camo. Their website said $150 so idk how its suddenly $200. The person I talked to said its because aqua camo is a custom color and has to be specially ordered, but how can it be "custom" or "special" if its a color option that they wrote down on options? I Don't get it

I am assuming you have 2014 PA14 since it was a recent purchase. The $150 on the website is for front portion only and for Storm Gray or Army Camo. Not sure about adder for other color options. I ordered Army Camo with black 2nd layer with Steve's design (less Hobie H) and it is $290 and that includes the rear deck. I also asked if they had pattern for Yeti Roadie cooler and she said yes and they could do it at no cost. It did cost me a week in lead-time as they had to send to CAD department to lay everything out again. Mine should ship next week and hopefully arrive by next weekend. As soon as I receive and get installed I will post pics. Project this weekend is installing/wiring LED lights.

According to SeaDek, they have the single layer mats (no bottom coordinating color), front section only, already cut, in stock and ready to ship. However, they only stock the Storm Gray or the Army Camo. These are the only mats that sell for $150 + shipping. If you use any logo, a bottom layer color, add the rear deck pad, or anything else custom, the price goes up. It seems the price has settled on about $295 + shipping for the entire kit with graphics and the read deck pad.

I just bought a single layer kit fir my PA14 in the aqua camo color and it was $159.95 + shipping. As stated before, Paige seems to be the only one who has a clue over there

I haven't noticed any sound at all even when it's wet. Except for some times in the winter, when I'm fishing my main lake (225 acres) I'm usually always bare foot. I have been out a few times this winter in my wading boots and tracked in water/mud, etc. No squeaks.

What about tearing of the fabric? Treble hooks, etc? Does it tear easy?

What about fading? Exposure to sun, salt, repeated cleaning scraping with nylon brush to get stains out?

Has anyone who has SeaDek applied for any length of time care to comment...Thx.

If you go to SeaDek's website homepage, you will find a YouTube video on the right side of the page. Open it and you will find a series of videos that will give you just about all the information you could ask for about the product. I don't think anyone has had the mats installed long enough to answer your questions, but the videos sold me. Hope this helps.

I've caught a few treble hooks in mine and pulling them straight out has not cause any issues. You don't have to use a hand brush to clean it after each trip. I only stated that if it was a stain that might have dried in and could not be removed by normal washing, then you might need a small hand brush. The YouTube videos are very good at explaining how to clean the material.

I use my PA at least twice a week. Lately I've been out 3-4 times a week. So in about 5 months of usage (3 saltwater trips as well) it has held up great! It still looks like new. But then again, I am finicky about taking care of my stuff...lol. Just my experience so far.

I just received a quote from Seadek for the cockpit and rear deck areas of a 2014 PA 14 for $270. (Olive over Mocha)

I asked for the quote to include Steve's pro angler graphics but they replied that they could not provide me graphics. They did not elaborate about why.

Steve, I like your graphics and wanted to use them. I saw in a previous post that you were OK with others using it. Do you know if there is something I can do to get to use your graphics? I expect that Hobie would have to agree also to use their logos.

Talk to Paige only if you are interested in one of the 3 variations below. A 2012 kit will not have a Hobie "H" on it anywhere, but she knows she can make any of the 3 versions below without asking me. Paige will take care of you.

Logo - rod/reel/Pro Angler text (no "H")
Logo - rod/reel/Pro Angler Text and a "12" (Pro Angler 12 model)
Logo - rod /reel/Pro Angler Text and a "14" (Pro Angler 14 model)

Thanks for pointing to the videos, Baron. One of the SeaDek folks mentioned they treated the EVA material with UV inhibitors & microbial agents (for black mold & green algae).

Just ordered some color samples. I saw the snow camo mounted on the SUP board. Anybody else have photos of SeaDek on a mango PA 14?

Can anyone confirm if the forward 'single piece PA14' Seadek will fit in a PA12? IMO, all the smaller pieces that are offered in the PA12 look terrible.

I agree with you Dave, but if you check my posting under "SeaDek Pricing Info" you will see that SeaDek is now working on a PA12 kit with a single piece up front, but the price is going to be way too much, IMO. If not too much, at least it's too close to the PA14 price and will cause some rumblings, I think. As far as the PA14 kit fitting on the PA12, you will lose the beveling if you trim it as I am sure you will have to. I don't like it in so many pieces on the PA12 kit, but I have decided to go with it anyway for the lower price...at least for now.

Dave,

The single piece for the front area of the PA14 that I did would not work on a PA12. The measurements are not the same. The PA14 has a little bit more deck area. It's even a little wider based on my research. If the factory foot pads were not in recessed areas, it would be possible in my opinion to take a single front pad made for a PA12 and use it on a PA14. Not the other way around. My measurements do not leave a lot of room along the outside edge on the sides.

I believe someone is doing a template kit on a PA12 for SeaDek to make a kit with less pieces. At least that's what I have gleaned from all the posts. I agree on all the smaller pieces.

Tight lines!!

First of all, thanks SRAces for the wealth of information based on your experience w/ SeaDek.

I would like to know if you removed the factory footpads on your 2012 PA14 before you installed the SeaDek or just covered them over? I have the 2012 PA14 & my footpads rise up about 3/16" above the kayak deck. If there is a recess, will there be a depression if the footpads are removed first?

If I need to remove the existing footpads, is it heat gun & plastic scraper, then acetone to remove adhesive?

Thx again for your willingness to share your experience.
