Roof Rack and Garage Storage

Thanks for all the posts TDK. Could not have done this without you. Main difference is the cradle I made for the hull.

Awesome! Can you post a video of how you operate the lift and also a clearer picture of the rack the PA is sitting on? Thank you for your post, this is definately something I would like to try.

I added extensions (chains) due to my very tall ceiling. It lowers down to about 8 inches off the ground. I lower it with an electric power drill with the provided cranking tool.

When I get some time I will put together my entire setup on youtube. You can search these topics in this forum and see how TDK did his. I mostly copied him.

I have the same garage lift, work great. I was going to add a longer lift cable but it looks like the add chains work great. I need to add a couple of PVC pipes for the cradle (just used the bubble wrap that came around the Yak for now).

I did notice that you store it with the rudder pulled up and I read that this has caused premature failure to some of the parts, just can't remember which ones.

You may want to search for that topic.

I did a search and really didnt find any recomendations. I remember reading about rudder pins failing, but dont know if that is related to storage. I am going to lower my rudder tomorrow, but if someone knows please let me know. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Another thing that I have noticed is my rudder cable/rope is fraying where the cleat attaches. Anyone else notice this?
