Had my very own "Hobie Adventure" this past Saturday with a fellow Hobie (Revo) owner. We went searching for some freshwater Rockfish on a NC lake this past Saturday morning.

Air Temp at blastoff: 20 degrees with a slight morning breeze.

Just followed the birds in the morning and they did not let us down.

A pict of the biggest one, with the others just a little smaller.

I know this does not compare to the Saltwater catches...but fun non the less.

Thanks for looking!

We'll not likely see those days ever again, but once upon a time, Jordan, or any of the Yadkin chain lakes, produced 20 to 25 pound stripers, dozens per day. That was the 1980's.

I wish I had had my kayaks then. Talk about something that would have been great fun.

No WJdave...it was Badin Lake...wanted to try a body of water that I have never been on. My partner and I also caught plenty of White Bass, Perch, Crappie and a Catfish.

All fish went back in the drink...for yet another day! ; )

Yes sir, Tom...that would have been special.

Even with the BIG die-off at Jordan this summer...I feel there are still some numbers of Stripers roaming around. But probably none close to that size.

Glad to hear it. You never harm the fishery when you put a fish back. If guys had done that back in the 80's, we'd still have plenty of those 20 to 25 pounders swimming around in there.

Hey sifisto...thanks...was trolling a spoon and a deep diving crank. Caught many White Bass and Perch, but only 2 solid Rockfish.
