Took my PA out on it's maiden voyage today. Had to go before the weather took a turn for the worst (snow and wind). Of course I brought a couple of rods just to see if anything was biting...nadda thing. I still stayed on the water for a while 3 hours with my rods in the tubes Peddling around Rudee Inlet in VA Beach. I love this freaking boat...i mean kayak...i mean boat...

I am glad I took the boat on the water before I make any additions. Thanks to whomever gave me that advice. Here are a few things I noticed.

1. I can paddle this boat pretty well. Angles are different but very doable.
2. Boat rudder is very sensitive.
3. I had to practice the different settings for the mirage drive to get the most comfortable position. Being short legged, I am dabbling between 3 and 4.
4. I WAS ABLE TO STAND W/O ANY ISSUES!!! An H-bar would have made it a million times easier but it was good to know that I don't need it :)
5. I can do a powerslide.....peddle fast, turn hard right or left...and put your fins up against the hull. Silly but fun.
6. I was super dry the entire time.

Next to do....

1. Anchor Trolley
2. Fish Finder
3. Maybe H bar.

This koat...bayak had me smiling all day. Now the only problem is, spring can't get here fast enough.

Jealous!! I have ordered a Pro Angler after seeing it at the San Antonio Boat Show. What a great idea with the Mirage Drive. I won't pick up mine until later in the spring when I return to Canada for the summer though. So I will glean what I can and live vicariously through you all! Can't wait!

I am still giddy about mine. I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and we have been enjoying a rather balmy winter so far. All inland lakes are frozen solid, but Lake Superior is wide open and it calls for me to go fishing in the places I usually ice fish this time of year. The PA is especially great for cold weather fishing you pedal it therefore you stay warm, no pesky paddle drippings in your lap and your hand stay dry. This is the best investment I have ever made - fun too.
Glad to see you enjoy yours and look forward to hearing more.

Lake Superior? I live west of the Lake and I know what it can be like in the winter. Whee! What an endorsement for the Pro Angler.
I'm on one of those inland froze up lakes though,,,,so waiting it out in the Deep South.
Cheers

I was going to post a picture of me and my PA before I went fishing in late November after a big snowstorm- I know for a fact that the PA is the best cold weather fishing machine I have ever owned. I guess I don't know how to post pictures yet. I will have to look into that

Congrats on getting a really great boat. Not many new PA owners have any surprises but good ones. The smile comes involuntary.

Welcome to the fleet, Phill
