Hey guys, I started Kayak Fishing last year and this year have just bought the new Pro Angler 17. It is an amazing experience until now except installing the evolve 2 which drove me crazy!.
basically I have used the guide and installed all parts and holes accordingly, except I could not find a way to have the connector between engine and battery fixed , to elaborate, the engine to the hull connector is fixed, but then once you take the cable inside the hull and want to take it outside to connect it to the battery , there is no way to have waterproof hole that I can use like I did for the controller part.

It seems the evolve kit came with the intention having the battery fitted inside the hull? but what if the batter is situated above and behind the back seat, what sort of waterproof hole fixing I can use to be able to run the cable out to the battery? and no the Lawrence ready made holes do not work because the width of the socket to connect to the battery is wider which requires using a larger hole saw but then there will be empty circle around the socket that I do not have any solution for.

any suggestion would be appreciated, and sorry for my bad English

The eVolve system comes with hardware that assumes the battery is inside the hull or all the components are outside.

Why are you trying to place the battery outside?

I'll ask our designer about the idea you are trying to achieve. You may have to have the cable through a hole that can be sealed in a different way.

Thank you Miller for your prompt reply. The reason I would like to have the battery outside is because i can essentially take the battery out , charge it , and fix it back in with ease.
Also the pro angler 17 has specifically designed the battery platform outside the hull, and I assume the reason is because of Skid and Rudder on the back removed the ability to have storage compartment.

The most important reason though is I like minimal rigging when it comes to what lays on the deck of the hull, so the front hatch + the 3 hatches on the deck are all used and full already with accessories and tools keeping my hull clean and tidy :)

I will eagerly await your reply on the solution , thanks again

The rear battery area is designed for a lead acid battery. The eVolve one is intended to go inside the hull. To route the cable back out at the rear... The engineers suggestion is to use one of the Lowrance ready through holes. If the cable end is too large, you may have to get a fitting from a Marine hardware store.
