I read in a review on Austin Kayak (http://www.austinkayak.com/products/12538/Hobie-Rectangular-Hatch-Drop-In-Bucket.html) that the drop-in bucket will not work with the forward or aft hatches. Can anyone else verify this? Are there any other options? I would prefer to use the bucket over the tackle management system.

If two users said the bucket won't fit, that would be good enough for me.
The depth inside the hull must be too shallow for the bucket and prevents the lid from closing.

One possible solution, that would involve shortening the depth of the gear bucket, is to carefully cut out enough material from the walls and then reattach the bottom of the bucket. This would be somewhat "a messy solution" and involve fusing the plastic back together or maybe taping back together with Gorilla tape around the outside.

If you were to remove the "open end, top lip", the buck would no longer "hang on to the rectangular hatch".
