Hello

I currently use a harness to assist getting back on my PA (mid-lake) that is "strung" from the back of the side handles. I'm using an inch, maybe inch and a quarter polyester strapping that goes around the side handles and secures with a buckle. This probably puts a lot of stress on the handles.

I am thinking of re-doing the harness to get rid of some foot steps I don't use and began worrying about putting my weight, all be it briefly, on the handles. I was looking at the rod holders at the back and I'm wondering if maybe attaching my harness to some PVC that I'd stick down the rod holders if that would be stronger or less stressful to the plastic.

I imagine both are not ideal but I enjoy jumping in the middle of the lake for a swim so I need something. The handles solution is the easiest, most out of the way and seem to be holding up after a couple years. Any opinions (or knowledge :D ) on which would be the be the lesser of two evils? I'm just guessing that the PVC in the rod holders would have more surface contact and a larger contact area than whatever screw is holding on the handles. Would it be the clear cut winner? Maybe the screw/handle area is more reinforced than I'm picturing? I don't know plastic very well, if it was wood, no problem, I'd trust the screws.
