1. The original selling dealer should have a record of the sale including the hull # if you can provide the name of the original purchaser and approximate date of sale.
2. In any event, if you chalk over the number (common blackboard or construction chalk), then wipe it off, this will highlight the digits. If this doesn't quite do the job, you may not need the total number to get it -- if you can at least get the part containing the 4 digit production sequence number, you should be able to derive the rest from Hobie. You can get the significant info for each # and letter from the FAQ section.
