Well the title was a little dramatic but it's the truth. I was tooling along on the water Sunday and all the sudden I felt the seat back just sink in. Upon investigation I found that right where the lumbar adjustment attaches to the strap like features on the back of the seat there is a small plastic piece connects the braided line of the lumbar adjuster to the straps that keep the seat back supported. That small braided line just cut right through the plastic eventually. I am not sure if any of this makes sense but if you look at the back of your seat you will see it. It's s small triangle shaped piece.

You don't realize how uncomfortable the seat becomes when the lumbar support isn't there! My first thought is take it to my dealer. The boat is a 2015 PA 14. Don't the boats have a 2 year warranty? It's literally one tiny plastic piece that hobie probably has bins full of at their factory.

Anyway, might want to check y'alls seats out as well. You will see where the line attaches to that small triangle shaped piece. I am not sweating too much, you get a boat with all these bells and whistles Murphy's law say something is gonna happen. I love my PA though, def would never trade it for any other.

Yes, your PA-14 and all Hobie's have a two year warranty and the plastic part that failed, connecting the lumbar support to the strap is the first one I have read about, since the Vantage seat was introduced more than two years ago.
You should contact your Hobie Dealer to get a replacement part ordered asap.

For the record, my 2013 PA-14 has more than 600 hours of use and nary a problem with the Vantage seat.
