Hello everyone! I've wanted a PA14 since I rented one on Lake Michigan a few years back. We pedaled 10 miles by Soldier Field in windy, choppy conditions... and I could still walk the next day, so I decided this would be my yak. Especially since I am 6'6" 310 pounds and have capsized every previous kayak I have tried to board.

So I just bought a house on the Anclote River in Tarpon Springs Florida, spent 3 months watching everyone else yak up and down, pulling fish up left and right. Finally I bit the bullet a purchased one. Spent today on the water and I must say, this thing is as great as I remember.

I look forward to spending way too much money customizing this thing, following all of your leads!! Glad to be part of the gang!!

Sweet ride, it's an addiction.

Welcome to the family. You're a big boy like me. I'm 6'6" 265lbs and haven't mastered the art of standing up and fishing yet. I think its because our center of gravity is so much higher and the fact that there aren't too many days here in Kansas where there isn't a little chop on the water.

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to the addiction! I'm in my PA almost every weekend as long as the weather permits.

Looks great! I am trying to decide between the PA14 and the tandem. The weight of the tandem is a little daunting since I will be using is solo half the time. Did you add the standup bar yourself? I have a Tarpon 17 and being a big guy it has felt tippy, and I'm usually wet-I have the rudder on mine and it is fast though. How is the ride? Do you get wet? How do you like the seating?

Thanks,

Ranchonodinero
