Trailering Two PA 12's?

I know this has been discussed probably a million times but my son and I both switched from Jackson kayaks to new PA 12's. I had a Malone trailer and sold it yesterday because I just didn't think it was big enough for the two PA's. I want something I can load/unload easily and prefer to just back the kayaks right in the water.

I assume a double jetski trailer is probably the best trailer to convert? I found a custom made aluminum trailer made specifically to haul two PA12 kayaks. Problem is, it's very wide at 8'10" and technically over the Texas state width limit of 8 1/2 feet/102". Plus, it won't fit n a typical garage I dont think because it's right at 19 feet long but it is a very nice trailer made specifically for the PA's. It about two hours away and don't want to buy it unless I know I can get in in my garage. I have a lot of garage space but too much other stuff so trying to figure out what trailer to buy.

Of course... we offer an aluminum Trailex trailer just for this purpose (38652200). Understand the there may be a desire for conversion / budget issues, so it is 16' 1" long x 84" wide (7') Crossbars are positioned at 67" spacing to accept the molded cradles from perfect fit.

You'll probably get in trouble with a trailer 8'10" ......... Most places the max is around 8 ft 6 unless you make special arrangements every time you go out. I have a double jet ski trailer that I haul 2 PA 14's with a Hobie Toybox between them that I love. If Hobie would have a decent website that allows you to easily post pics like all the other sites, I would post pics. You can get them used and modify them easily and much cheaper than the new yak trailers

I agree and I'd sure hate to get a ticket for the trailer being too wide. It's a pretty big trailer company also that custom built it for the owner and I'm really surprised they built it that wide. The owner is super nice, 70 years old, and he told me today he'd never had an issue before but he hasn't had it too long. I know the odds of being stopped and the trailer measured would be slim. I tow a 43 foot 5th wheel with an F450 and it's hard to believe the kayak trailer is wider than my truck and trailer. I'll keep looking for the right jet ski trailer and prefer an aluminum one.

I like the Hobie cradles but the kayak trailers are ridiculously expensive and I'm just not that impressed with the build quality, especially considering their price. I've gotta get something soon though because I don't have a way to carry the kayaks and I have 300 pound plus hitch in my truck taking up all of the room in the bed.

This thread shows my setup with the Hobie trailer and 2 Outfitters. Obviously, for the PAs you'll want the craddles as Matt mentioned for upright carry and easy launch/retrieval.

I trailer 2 2015 PA14s on a modified Lowe's 5'x8' utility trailer. As you can see, the length has been extended by square tubing, and the tail lights re-located farther back. It works well.

Any opinions on the Hobie trailer, can it be backed in to the water? I've found one with the Hobie cradles for sale but haven't seen one in person. Do the kayaks slide over the cradles very easy or are the cradles more of a grippier material?

I've been extremely happy with the Aluma PWC2 dual jet ski trailer. I keep the PAs stored on the trailer in the garage. Very easy to setup with PVC for rails.

That's a great looking trailer and exactly what I'm looking for. I can't find a used one right now but going to keep looking. Did you buy yours new? Local dealer wants $1800 plus tax for a Triton aluminum dual jet ski trailer.

I had to make a day trip to drive and pick mine up, but I found it for just under $1,400 new. Has a 5-year warranty. 2,500 lb capacity. Pulls great and is easy to roll around with 2 PAs on it. If you search for Aluma trailer online at dealers that sell trailers, you should be able to find one within a reasonable distance.
