This is probably a question for Matt, but would like others opinions. Should I store with the rudder and skeg deployed or retracted. Or does it not make a difference. I would think that it probably makes no difference, especially considering I rarely deploy the skeg, unless it is very windy or I am peddling a long way.

The safest option is "deployed/down" so you take all the tension/pressure off the internal mounting components.
When the rudder is retracted, the internal blocks/fittings are under high tension mounted to "plastic hulls".

I agree with Dr. Steelheadchaser. I relieve pressure on everything when I return my PA to the shop where I store it.

I let the rudder down, release the rudder tensioner and the one on the back of my seat, too. I also make sure none of my leashes are being stretched and likewise undo the tiedown cords in the back and on the hatch. I know shock cord can stretch out or rot so I'd like to maximize their life, too.

Basically if it stretches or is under pressure, I release or relieve it. May not make any difference except in my head....but I do it any way.
