Hi all,
I'm hearing there is alot of mixed reviews regarding accuracy of the unit when installing the helix Si system in the PA14 in the provided Lowrance ready space (flush).
Does anyone actually have first hand experience and can share their input? From what I've read so far, people are just stating the fact some are having trouble getting good readings while others its working fine for them.
I'd love to have the Helix 7 Si but would be spewin if it didnt work 100%! My dealer reassured me he called up the guys at Hobie Australia and they said there are no issues. Then I come on the forums and its a different story!
Thanks in advance for any replies!
I am concerned how well the side imaging will work based on a few screen captures on the BerleyPro site (
https://www.berleypro.com/tag/transducer/ ) as well as the transducer being obscured for side imaging for distances longer than 30ft or so because of the Hobie hull. BerleyPro even indicates they will have to lower the transducer mount to remove the shadows at the edge. See below images

I have had great results with Humminbird units in the past as was hoping to mount a Helix 10 or Lowrance Elite 7 Ti for side imaging on my new Hobie PA12, but will wait until I see some good screen shots of side imaging.
