I have had my new PA Camo 14 for almost a week. Been out on two trips down the river.

I pedaled a friends PA 14 several times and demoed a 2016 PA 14. Obviously not a lot of experience. Perhaps it's too early to ask this question but for those with experience in the "old" Drive how do the two compare in terms of efficiency? The reverse is nice and I've used it a couple of times.

Is the new drive as fast/efficient as the old drive?

I have the old one and I like this new one. I felt like it was lighter to pedal considering I'm pedaling the PA 17 with a lazy 250 lb passenger. I was the only one pedaling. I pedal the kayak with no complains. I like the reverse.

The MD 180 is just as fast and efficient...different outline, but same performance except for the fact that you now have full-power reverse.
