I picked up a used 2015 PA 14. It was a little rough around the edges but it was pretty cheap.
So the problem is, the rudder drops but i kinda have to feed the line into the kayak. To pull the rudder up, theres at least a foot of line that i pull before the rudder responds. So i took the foam out to see what was going on. I pulled all the slack out of line (rudder is down and the rudder pull line is tight to the grommet). Theres lots of slack in the line and a pulley with the rope attached just laying there at the front square hatch.
My question is, ive seen the steering diagram. Ive seen the lines diagram. Is there a more detailed diagram of how the lines and pulleys of the rudder up/down system should look like?
Both pictures were taken from the square tackle hatch in front of the seat. I looks like the pulley should be tied on to something or screwed in somewhere.
