My PA14 was sliding off my boonedox truck bed extender and the black clip on the end of the extender caught the kayak, preventing it from falling off. It wasn’t too hard, but it did whack it a little. Is this a crack? It doesn’t feel like anything when I run my hand over it. I don’t know anything about polyethylene. I thought maybe it cracked from the other side and I can see it from the outside. If that’s what it is how bad is that? Is it going to grow? Is there anyth I should do? ImageImage

If you can’t feel anything when you run your hand over it, it’s probably just a surface mark. Polyethylene is pretty tough, so unless you see a clear fracture, you’re likely in the clear. But if you're worried, it wouldn’t hurt to keep an eye on it or even take it to a local shop for a quick check.

Agree about keeping a eye on it.
If it appears to grow, suggest drilling a 3/32" hole on both ends to stop the growth and then use a hot iron welder to repair the crack and plug the holes.
Hobie sells a welder with a variety of polyethylene colors for repair.
Harbor Freight sells welders too, but only black plastic material.
Amazon sells this kit with a variety of plastic color materials https://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Welder-S ... 67&sr=8-25
