I recently aquired my first H18, a 1988 SX.
The mainsail downhaul is a simple line attached to the grommet at the
bottom of the sail, just above the lowest batten. There is a simple block attached to the side of the mast on the port side of the mast and a cleat on the starboard side of the mast.
I want to fancy this system up a bit, I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks,
Brian

Murray's Sports sells a nice 5:1 downhaul which I use on my 18.
